Woodstream Campsites, Gainesville, NY – Enjoy Nature’s Lazy River

Nestled in the hills of Wyoming county is a private run campground that our family has been enjoying for years! Back in the days when there were 8 families that all camped together, we would book a whole loop and enjoy large blazing fires and “wing night”. Now that most of that group has moved away or gotten out of camping entirely, it was time to take our kids there again to enjoy floating down the stream the runs through the center of the campground. Early summer is the best time to go because the water levels are still high enough and the water temperature isn’t as cold. Spring would be best for water level, but we would not recommend it because of the water temperature. Fishing would be a better activity to do in the spring. We’ve been to Woodstream in Spring, Summer, & Fall, and always have a wonderful time.

Although the park’s main draw is the creek, many additions have been made over the years, including adding a new swimming pool, updating the camp store and game area, and creating new and fun activities for families to enjoy. There is a large population of seasonal campers there who meticulously maintain their lots and make them their own. There is one spot that has trains and a fountain. Another with a ranch style entry and large rooster looking over passers-by. The spots are all so pretty, you can tell they really take pride in their campground.

Amenities include water & 30 amp electric sites for $44. per night, and Creekside sites for $49. per night. 50 amp full hookup sites are also offered at $52. per night. Various cabins are available ranging from $78. – $88. per night. All campsites and cabins have a fire ring and picnic table for you to use. Additional amenities include a propane filling station, swimming pond, 9 hole mini-golf and two dump stations. The campground is a really relaxing place to enjoy time with your family.

Cell service is not very good at the park. It’s best near the camp store, where you will find kids milling around so they can stay connected to their social media accounts. We used a Netgear booster and my personal hotspot one time when we were there so that I was able to work remotely.

If you are looking for what to do in the area, you can take a 20 minute drive to Letchworth State Park which is home to 3 large waterfalls within the park. Also 20 minutes away is Hidden Valley Animal Adventure which offers a guided Safari Bus Tour. Self guided tours are also available. Check for price and availability here.

We hope that you add Woodstream Campsites to your summer plans. Thanks for joining us, and check out the link to our tour below.
